Day 7 : Zespri® Kiwifruit and Honey Face Mask

Yeay! I’m on Day 7 of Zespri® 14-Day Daily Scoop of Amazing Challenge. It’s been an amazing journey so far and I can’t wait to complete this challenge. Seriously, I thought this challenge will be easy. It’s easy when you just scoop out the flesh of kiwifruit and eat it. But on Day 3, my daughter said, “Buah kiwi lagi.. asyik buah kiwi je”. It is not because she didn’t like it but I think she just couldn’t understand why she must eat kiwifruit everyday. Hahahah.

Therefore I started to try, create and improvise my recipes. But still, kiwifruit everyday :)

Some of you might think… with the regular consumption of kiwifruit, will you feel any difference? It’s hard to tell because I don’t have a problem with my bowel movement. I do my “business” every morning with no hassle. But I notice that I have a softer stool for the past 4 days. Therefore, I think that kiwifruit really helps!

Insoluble fibre in kiwifruit helps to increase stool bulk, while soluble fibre aids in absorption of water, resulting in softer, bulkier stool. These enable stool to move more quickly through your colon. Did you know the large intestine measures approximately 1.5 metres in length in adult human? Wow, that’s a long journey!

Ok, enough of these facts. I am not introducing any edible recipe for you today. Hahaha. But you can lick the fork if you want to!

1 ripe Zespri® Green Kiwifruit
2 tablespoons pure honey

1. Scoop out the flesh of Zespri® Green Kiwifruit and discard skin. Put the flesh of the fruit in a mixing bowl and mash with fork.

2. Pour in the honey and mix together. (Refer to the first photo)
3. Once blended well, apply the face mask to your freshly cleansed face and neck. Leave it on for 20 minutes.

4. Rinse off with warm water and gentle cleanser.
5. Pat dry you face with a soft hand towel.

I felt that my face looks refreshed, feel softer and supple. The power of natural ingredients!

Kiwifruit contains two times more vitamin C than an orange does, vitamin C is know as an effective skin brightener and it is essential for collagen production which gives our skin flexibility and elasticity. It is also rich in antioxidants that are known to fight free radicals and can help delay the aging process. The black seeds within the kiwifruit also omega 3 acid, alpha lipoic acid, which is a big name, and much used ingredient, in the skin care world. Fatty acids also prevent dry skin as it helps the cells from losing moisture and wrinkle prevention. Vitamin C and E combined are the natural astringent because they help lighten your skin tone, tighten the pores and moisturizes it at the same time.

Honey has anti-microbial properties that prevent breakouts, it has the ability to retain moisture to the skin and it is a natural antioxidant.

After-thought : I was so busy and I forgot that I need to use blender instead of just mash the kiwifruit using fork. Wanna know why? Because you want that little black seed to crush so that your skin can get the fatty acid omega 3 oils too. Never mind, I'll do it it tomorrow. Now it's time to sleep T_T
