Mari buat sendiri Natural Room Scent

A few days ago, mood nak makan kambing mari. So pergi beli kat Jusco dan panggang dalam oven. Baunya semerbak bertebaran satu rumah. Kehkehkeh, satu rumah bau kambing! Kat rumah tu ada la Ambi Pur, Air Wick.. baik yang jenis sembur mahupun gel. Tapi air freshener sebegini I rasa kurang berkesan untuk hilangkan bau satu rumah. Dah la mahal, lepas tu kena ada banyak pulak sebab nak letak kat banyak tempat.

Then, I terfikir sesuatu. Kalau I boleh buat satu rumah bau kambing, mesti I boleh buat satu rumah bau wangi juga. Teringat bila I buat carrot cake. Bau cinnamon dan wangi kek tu memang semerbak satu rumah dan terus buat orang rasa lapar.

So, I googled and I was shocked to know about SIMMER POT. At least, idea ku sebenarnya dah lama orang pakai. I je yang tak tau. Hahahaha.

Simmer pot ni mungkin jarang dibuat di Malaysia. Simmer pot is a DIY air freshener.

Takde hal.

Instructions: Fill a small saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add the ingredients from your favorite recipe, continue to boil for a few minutes, then turn the heat down to simmer. Add water as needed, usually every 30 minutes or so.

Resipi simmer pot ni ada macam-macam. Ni antara yang I jumpa. Ambil di sini : DIY Natural Room Scents.

Scent #1: Oranges, cinnamon and cloves (allspice and anise are optional). This is my favorite, both for it's wonderful aroma and for it's staying power. This scent carries into multiple rooms better, and it can be reheated to scent your rooms for several days.

Scent #2: Lemon, rosemary, and vanilla. A similar scented water is often simmering in Williams-Sonoma stores. It has a lovely freshness to it.

Scent #3: Lime, thyme, mint and vanilla extract. This combination has such a fresh, pleasant scent. I initially made it without the mint extract, but have found that it really kicks up the aroma.

Scent #4: Orange, ginger (fresh or powdered), and almond extract. This is a sweet, delicious scent.

So malam tadi ber DIY lah saya di rumah. Senang je. Macam main masak-masak juga.

 Lemon, Rosemary and Vanilla.

Jom masak!

Refill air tu bila perlu. Kalau rasa nak tutup air, korang boleh simpan saki baki tu kat dalam botol atau bekas. Bila nak guna, panaskan semula. Selagi bau tu ada, boleh la simpan.

Now rumah I dah tak bau kambing lagi :)
