Shrimp Fra Diavolo - named after the devil

Shrimp Fra Diavolo? Apa tu? Nama udang ke? Nama restoran ke? Nama devil ke?

Nope, it's a pasta dish!

"Pasta is a generic term for foods made from an unleavened dough of wheat or buckwheat flour and water, sometimes with other ingredients such as eggs and vegetable extracts. Pastas include varieties that are filled with other ingredients like ravioli and tortellini. The word pasta is also used to refer to dishes in which pasta products are a primary ingredient. Pernah tak korang terfikir apa maksud setiap nama pasta? Jom semak.

Spaghetti - Little twines
Vermicelli - Little worms
Fettucine - Little slices
Lasagne - Cooking pot
Linguine - Little tongues
Tagliatelle - Little cut ones
Cannelloni - Large little canes
Penne - Pens
Spirali - Spirals
Farfelle - Butterflies

Boleh disimpulkan di sini bahawa nama pasta akan diberi berdasarkan bentuk pasta itu sendiri.

I love pasta. Sekali imbas, nampak semuanya sama tapi sebenarnya, setiap jenis pasta perlu sesuai dengan sauce tertentu. Spaghetti sinonim dengan bolognaise dan carbonara.. yummy! Tapi kalau la nak gunakan sauce bolognese atau carbonara dengan jenis pasta yang lain pun tidaklah menjadi masalah. Kita yg nak mkn kan? Hehehe...

Resipi di bawah telah lama tersimpan dalam buku resipi. Teringin sgt nak cuba bila baca this description:

Wah, kalau dah spicy.. mmg suka la. Tapi setiap kali nak cuba, terbayang nak kena buat masakan lain utk Batrisyia. Sometimes, terkejar-kejar sampaikan rasa malas nak masak 2 kali. Yeah, my bad.

Semalam, agak buntu fikirkan nak masak apa. Hubby nak yg ringan-ringan aje. So mmg tak mkn nasi la. Terus teringat resipi nie. For Batrisyia, aku rebuskan spaghetti gak tapi mkn dengan udang goreng yg dia suka. Mmg hantu udang!

Hidangan ini boleh tersedia dalam 10 minit sahaja (termasuk masa merebus pasta). Sekejap je kan? Hubby ckp, "Not bad" sebab tak sangka dengan rupanya yg agak simple, rasa dia agak sedap la jugak.

thanks for this! family i pun gile pasta (the 3 boys n me je, hubby xminat sgt sbb spaghetti suma ni xpedas) so recipe ni mmg cun sgt la nk try sbb u ckp pedas kan?

kak syigim> tak la pedas pun. jgn lupa note saya di bawah resipi. kalau nak pedas, tambah red-pepper flakes tu byk sikit.
